RE: booking: Kizolanza

Hi Nicola

Thanks for your response, very helpful !!

Could you please also send me the tariffs for your other accommodation – cottages and chalets

It looks so inviting, considering we would have been on the road for some days and camping every night.

We will confirm our booking closer to the time – and definitely book a table for dinner.

We are planning to follow the Chalinze route and to stay over at Peponi Beach resort (north of Dar).

We see forward meeting you and staying over at Kizolanza.

Nico

Thank you for your mail.

Great to hear that you will be coming to Tanzania - bring plenty warm clothes if you are climbing Kili in June/July!

Our camping fees are $5 pp and we usually have plenty room as we have two sites.  If you would like to book a table for dinner please just telephone us or send an sms 2-3 days prior to your arrival +255 (0)754 306144.

The longest route to Kilimanjaro over 900 kms is via Chalinze and Moshi on the tarmac road.  The most scenic and shortest about 650 kms is via Dodoma, but the road is dirt most of the way and is rough - hardly any traffic which is not the case with the tarmac road.

There is always plenty of diesel and petrol in Tz and prices at the moment are $1.10 - $1.20 per litre.  It gets cheaper the closer to Dar you get.

It is advisable to do either way in two days from here.  They will both take you 12 - 13 hours of solid driving.

Hope this helps, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information.

Kind regards

Nicola Ghaui

Dear Nico

Thank you for your email.  We would have plenty of space in our camp site for 17 June.  The daily rate is US$4 per person.  The daily rate for electrical connection is US$1.

There is no availability for fuel near Peponi, however, you would be able to fill up in Muheza or Tanga en route.  The road to Tanga is tar and from Tanga to Peponi (on the Pangani road) there is about 27km of dirt road.  Condition depends on road maintenance after the long rains which are starting now!  The road is not often closed even when there has been a lot of rain.

We will look forward to hearing whether you would like to confirm.

Thanks and kind regards   Gilly
